Delatite River Edition
December 5th 2026!

Run along swooping single track through vibrant montane forests at the foot of Mt Buller. Wade in the crystal clear Delatite river headwaters. Share a beer with new and returning flyathletes in the early summer sun.
Changes to the format to keep things interesting. Flyathletes will be given the choice to first head upstream or downstream but must still reach both checkpoints to complete the course. The Flyathlete who can get both a Rainbow and a Brown will receive a significant time bonus!
Howqua River Edition

7 Mile Flat, Howqua, VIC
Get ready to get your feet wet! The tactics are going to get more intricate on this one. Flyathletes will run 13km from 7 Mile flat to Ritchie’s hut and back. But here’s the catch, there are two routes! The low track has 12 mandatory river crossings* while the High track keeps you high a dry.
*for this reason if water levels are too high to cross safely the event will revert to the Delatite river course.

The Masterplan…
The Mansfield area has so much potential for a variety of Flyathlon courses. It is my dream to run a whole summer series on a variety of rivers and tracks, maybe even branching out into other high country regions. For now I’m starting with the Delatite river edition but below are some teasers for some (just some) of my other ideas.
